Punjab Examination Commission to abolish class 5th exam

The PEC is also considering to abolish board exam for 9th grade and resuming combined SSC (Matric) examination system from 2020 session.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 29th May, 2019) The Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has decided to abolish class 5th exam from 2020 under the new education policy of Punjab government.

Only the examination for class 8th will be conducted.

The examination of 5th class is being scrapped to save the children from the extra burden.

The PEC is also considering to abolish board exam for 9th grade and resuming combined SSC (Matric) examination system from 2020 session.

Under the new policy, students of government and private schools would have to take middle class examination while nursery to Primary classes will have minimal exams.

Earlier, BISE Peshawar announced to abolish board exam for 9th class. The SSC exam would be now be taken as whole in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2020 session.

The notification issued in this regard stated that the exam for 8th grade would be conducted by the education boards from 2020 session.
