Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 29th May, 2019) International cricket has fully revived in Pakistan as the country will host the T-20 Asia Cup in 2020.
The Asian Cricket Council announced in Singapore on Tuesday.
A spokesman of the Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) said the name of the city to host the tournament would be announced soon and preparations will begin.
Pakistan will host the tournament in September 2020, one month prior to the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Pakistan had earlier hosted the 50-over Asia Cup in 2008.
International cricket had come to a halt in Pakistan following the attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009.
With the efforts of security forces, peace has now been restored in the country and the stage is set for international cricket.
Pakistan had been hosting some matches of Pakistan Super League in Lahore and Karachi for the past two year, where international cricketers also participated.
The International Cricket Council had also expressed satisfaction over the security situation in the country.
