MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) The Afghan Special Forces and Air Force carried out a number of raids in the Afghan southeastern province of Paktiya killing dozens of the Taliban militants, local media reported on Tuesday.As many as 14 militants were killed and seven others were detained during a ground operation in Tsamkani district, while 12 other militants were killed in an air force raid in the area, according to Khaama Press Agency.
At least 10 militants were killed in two airstrikes in Bermal district, the publication said, adding that two militants' vehicles were destroyed.
Another airstrike that killed at least three Taliban members was conducted in Zurmat district.
No comments have been provided so far by the Taliban movement.
Conflict-struck Afghanistan, which has been in turmoil for decades, is split by heavy fighting between government troops and the Taliban, as well as groups affiliated with al-Qaeda (terrorist group banned in Russia) and other insurgents.
