Islamabad; 28 May (ONLINE) : Sardar Masood Khan (Pakistan Point news / Online - 28th May, 2019) Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu andKashmir, while acknowledging the efforts made by State EarthquakeReconstruction and Rehabilitation (SERRA) in rebuilding the earthquakeaffected areas, said that it has undertaken to reconstruct the lost anddestroyed facilities while following highest standards of reconstructionand rehabilitation.The President made these remarks during a briefing provided to him by Mr.
Zahid Abbasi, Secretary SERRA at Jammu and Kashmir House.The President said that after ERRA was established in 2005, SERRA wassubsequently established to take up reconstruction programmes at the Statelevel. SERRA, he said, has achieved mammoth success in its noble cause andhas set a fine example of reconstruction, rehabilitation, and repatriation,he said.Secretary SERRA during his briefing informed the President of the on-goingprojects and also about various issue and challenges faced by theorganization which he said were leading to delays.
He informed that 71 percent of all projects has been completed. He also said that financialarrangements for all pending projects will be made available as soon aspossible in order to avoid any further delays in the completion ofprojects.The President praised SERRA by saying that numerous projects related to thehealth sector, construction of educational facilities, road infrastructureand urban development have been completed and now post-earthquake Kashmirhas well-equipped education and health facilities along with a modernnetwork of roads.
