MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) Russia favors full withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"Russia is sure that there cannot be a military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan. The only possible way is to achieve peace through political and diplomatic means. We favor full withdrawal of foreign troops from the country. We call on all the Afghan sides to start negotiations that will include a wide range of social and political forces as soon as possible," Lavrov said at the commemoration ceremony of the 100th anniversary of establishment of Afghan-Russian diplomatic relations.
