Government Decides To Hold KPK Assembly Elections For 16 Seats In Tribal Areas On July 2

Peshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 26th May, 2019) eshawar, May 26 (Online) Government has decided to hold KPeshawar (Pakistan Point news / Online - 26th May, 2019) K Assembly elections for 16 seats in the Tribal Areas on July 2 as per Election Commission schedule.On May 30 Election Commission will issue election symbols for the candidates. On the other hand the opposition parties have sought details from the government for not getting the bill approved from Senate.

According to media reports preparations are underway for holding of elections as scheduled on July 2. In this context Peshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 26th May, 2019) TI candidates are being interviewed.Under the 26th Constitutional Amendment the seats for Tribal districts in KPeshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 26th May, 2019) K Assembly area are being increased from 16 to 24 and for the National Assembly from 6 to 12.The mover of 26th Amendments Mohsin Dawar has said they are waiting for the approval of the Senate of the bill and do not know why the government is delaying this process.

He said if the Senate session is not convened within one or two days they will chalk out their own strategy and can submit requisition for convening of the Senate session for this purpose.ANPeshawar (Pakistan Point News / Online - 26th May, 2019) leader Sardar Hussain Babak has said that government should made it clear whether the elections will be held as scheduled or delayed. He drew the attention of Senate Chairman to the matter so that the tribal districts could get their right.On contact in this context Government spokesman Shaukat Yousafzai has confirmed that elections in the tribal areas will be held on July 2 as scheduled.
