MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd May, 2019) Germany's right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party had to cancel an event to celebrate the elections to the European Parliament in Berlin scheduled for Sunday because of the threats of left-wing extremists, the party said on Wednesday in a statement.The owner of the premises where AfD members wanted to have the celebration received calls and e-mails with threats from left extremists, according to the statement. As a result, the owner canceled her agreement with the party.
The leaders of the AfD called on the Berlin authorities to address the problem of left-wing extremists, and demanded that Berlin provided a venue for the AfD event and ensured its protection.
