Russia's Chechnya Head Says US Plays Sanctions Despite Having Millions Of Victims On Hands

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th May, 2019) Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia's Chechen Republic, said that Washington continued playing sanctions despite having millions of victims on its hands, in the wake of Washington's decision to introduce sanctions against the Russian region's Terek Special Rapid Response Team.

"The United States is continuing its children's games of sanctions. It has millions of victims, destroyed countries, peoples, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya on its hands. Do not even start with provocations, overthrown governments, and trained terrorist chiefs like [Osama] Bin Laden. It has a finger in the pie!" Kadyrov wrote on Twitter on Friday.

The US Treasury Department announced that it had imposed sanctions on Terek Special Rapid Response Team along with five individuals, including three Russians, on Thursday. Washington cited the so-called Magnitsky Act allowing it to impose restrictions on individuals and entities whom it considers to be human rights abusers.

The Russian embassy in the United States has condemned the "nonconstructive" US move, saying it would be followed by reciprocal measures on the part of Russia.
