Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News / Online - 15th May, 2019) National Assembly Committee on Foreign Affairs on Wednesday directed Immigration and Passport office to develop simplest procedure for obtaining and renewing passports for Overseas Pakistanis and also establish an online system to facilitate them.The Committee also directed that Immigration and Passport offices might be established at prime locations in abroad to make them easily approachable for Pakistanis living abroad.
The meeting expressed displeasure over the non-professional and non-cooperative attitude of FIA officials at Pakistani Airports and stressed upon the need to develop a proper mechanism to monitor their activities at Airports so they could not tease to Pakistani passengers, especially labor class while coming back to Pakistan.It further directed that FIA may strengthen its complaint cells at Airports for timely assistance to the complainant.
Earlier, representatives of FIA and Immigration and Passport offices briefly apprised the Committee about the initiatives taken by them to facilitate Overseas Pakistanis and problems faced by them in this regard.The meeting was attended by Abdul Shakoor, Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, Munaza Hassan, MNA,Fazal Muhammad Khan, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Ali Zahid, Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, Hina Rabbani Khar, MNA, Zahra Wadood Fatemi, and officials of Foreign Affairs.
