Caracas Describes US Authorities' Intrusion In Embassy As Violation Of International Law

CARACAS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th May, 2019) The office of the Venezuelan vice president described the US authorities' intrusion in the country's embassy in the United States as a violation of the international law.

On late Monday, the US authorities broke into the Venezuelan embassy, occupied by US activists. Soon after that the authorities left the embassy while four activists remained in the building.

"The US authorities have violated the international law by intruding into the Venezuelan Embassy in the United States without authorization of the Bolivarian government and President Nicolas Maduro," the vice president's office wrote on its Twitter page on Monday.

The Venezuelan diplomats left the embassy at the request of the US authorities in late April. However, the US activists occupied the building in order to protect it from being seized by the US authorities and supporters of the Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido.

Incumbent Venezuelan President Maduro thanked the activists for protection of the building.
