(Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2019) ABU DHABI, 12th May, 2019 (WAM) – More than 200 Abu Dhabi Media employees participated in the ""Well of Hope" competition by pumping 19,740 litres of water through a virtual water pumping system provided by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, in response to an invitation from the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The race was held at the company’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with the attendance of Ali bin Tamim, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Media, along with department and section directors.

The participation of the company’s employees is a part of its social responsibility, which includes organising charity, humanitarian and social programmes.

Dr. bin Tamim said that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s initiative highlights his regional and international message of hope, as well as his efforts to promote giving, achieve overall community development and empower people.

"Our goal was not only to win the race, but also to enable our employees to fulfil their humanitarian role to promote the values of giving that characterise the Emirati community. It established the UAE’s humanitarian reputation and made it the leader in various indexes related to giving and supporting the vulnerable and less fortunate around the world, regardless of religion, race or nationality," he added.

The race aims to involve the community in promoting giving, by donating water and delivering supplies to areas suffering from a lack of drinking water. All Emirati institutions are participating in the race.
