Manchester City retains EPL title after 4-1 win over Brighton

(Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2019) LONDON, 12th May 2019 (WAM) - A 4-1 win over Brighton today granted Manchester City the needed points to retain the English Premier League (EPL) title, one point ahead of Liverpool, who defeated Wolverhampton 2-0.

City fell behind in the 27th minute with a surprising header by Brighton striker Glenn Murray’s but Sergio Aguero levelled almost two minutes later.

Just before the break, Aymeric Laporte put the Citizens ahead with a brilliant header.

Algerian Riyad Mahrez's unstoppable right foot shot led to early celebrations among the City's fans, while a beautifully executed free kick by Ilkay Gundogan’s sealed the win and the second title in a row.

Manchester City became the first club to retain the Premier League title for 10 years, since their neighbour, Manchester United made the record in 2009.
