ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 09th May, 2019) Petition has been filed in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against appointment of Maryam Nawaz as vice president of PML-N.The petition has been filed by Members of National Assembly (MNAs) from PTI. The petitioners include Barrister Malaika Bokhari, Mian Farrukh Habib, Javeria Zafar Aheer and Kanwal Shozab.The petition said that appointment of Maryam Nawaz as vice president of PML-N runs contrary to constitution and law.
All the legal basis have been encompassed in the petition under which Maryam Nawaz is not eligible to hold any political and public office. Certain Supreme Court orders have also been mentioned in details in the petition.Shah Mehmood Qureshi has decided to challenge the nomination of Maryam Nawaz as PML-N vice president at every level.He has said that a convicted person cannot be given party post. Maryam Nawaz is also convicted therefore, she cannot be given any party portfolio.
