WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th May, 2019) The US Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed President Donald Trump's eldest son for testimony, media reported.
Donald Trump Jr. is the first of the president's sons to be subpoenaed in expanding congressional investigations in the wake of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report released last month, the New York Times reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the comittee's decison.
Mueller concluded in his report that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, although the report also claimed that Russia did interfere in US elections.
Russian officials have said Mueller's report provides zero evidence that supports allegations of election meddling, and that the charges were fabricated to excuse a candidate's loss and distract from real issues like political corruption.
