WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th May, 2019) US President Donald Trump intends to nominate a career foreign service officer to be Washington's new ambassador to Latvia, White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders said in a news release.
"Today, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate the following individual to a key position in his Administration: John Leslie Carwile of Maryland, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Latvia," the White House said on Wednesday.
Carwile currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Office of Career Development and Assignments in the US State Department, according to the release. Prior to that, he served in various diplomatic positions at the US embassies in Brunei, Nepal, Italy, Iraq and Canada.
