Govt to regulate Mosque sermons in Ramzan

Moreover, it will be ensured that the mosque sermons, particularly Friday sermons, abide by over two dozen topics chosen for them

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 7th May, 2019) As the holy month of Ramadan starts all across the world including Pakistan , mosques all around the country have completed their preparations to host more worshipers during the month.

Muslims break fast and perform teraweeh (special prayers during Ramadan) at their nearby mosques.

However, the government will regulate the sermons (Khutbah) delivered at the mosques during the Holy month of Ramzan.

Media reports said that the sermons will be regulated in Federal capital Islamabad.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration and police said that assistant commissioner, magistrate and SHOs along with their teams will oversee the activities in and around the mosques and will regulate them.

Moreover, it will be ensured that the mosque sermons, particularly Friday sermons, abide by over two dozen topics chosen for them, including five pillars of islam, Ahl-e-Bait and fundamental rights.

Sources said that the ICT administration will strictly observe the donations given to the mosques, especially from the cash given from banned organisations.

Sources further said that the administrators and prayer leaders have been directed to submit an affidavit, binding them to follow the instructions given to them by the capital administration and police.
