Airstrips At Sheremetyevo Airport Shut Down After Plane Fire, One Strip Reopened - Source

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th May, 2019) The airstrips at the Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport have been shut down after a plane caught fire, however one strip was reopened on Sunday, a source in the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency told Sputnik.

"One of the two strips is operating right now. Earlier, the aerodrome has been shut for an hour," a source said.

The press service of the Russian Investigative Committee said that an investigation into the violation of safety rules that led to the death of two or more people had been launched.

At the same time, the Investigative Committee released a video depicting the Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane landing, while half of the aircraft was on fire. On the video, passengers could be seen evacuating themselves from the plane using inflatable gangway.
