Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon has been appointed as the new Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 5th May, 2019) Dr Reza Baqir, who had previously been working with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has been appointed as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) governor for three years.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division on Saturday, President Arif Alvi has approved the appointment of Dr Reza Baqir.
"The President of Pakistan is pleased to appoint Dr Reza Baqir as Governor State Bank of Pakistan for a period of three years from the date he assumes office," the notification read.
Moreover, Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon has been appointed as the new Federal board of Revenue (FBR) chairman.
Dr Ahmed was serving as an additional secretary in the Finance Division.
The new appointments come after former SBP governor Tariq Bajwa and FBR chairman were unexpectedly removed from their posts on Friday.
