Russia Records 3 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered three truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded 20 ceasefire violations,

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st May, 2019) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered three truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded 20 ceasefire violations, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Wednesday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered three cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (1), Hama (1) and Aleppo (1). The Turkish side has registered 20 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (8), Idlib (3), Hama (8) and Latakia (1)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The center added that Russian military had held two humanitarian actions over the past 24 hours, delivering 1,000 food sets with a total weight of over 2 tonnes to residents of two settlements in Aleppo and Homs provinces.

According to the center, no additional reconciliation agreements were signed over the given period. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire remained the same � 234.

Russia, alongside Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria, while it also assists Damascus in the postwar reconstruction of the country and the repatriation of refugees.
