WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st May, 2019) US Special Envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism Elan Carr begins a two-week trip to Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Belgium and Israel on Wednesday, which includes events to educate people on the horrors of the Holocaust and the roots of prejudice, the Department of State said in a press release.
The May 1-15 mission begins with five days in which Carr will join a US delegation attending the International March for the Living, the release said on Tuesday.
"The March for the Living is an annual event to educate participants on the history of the Holocaust and the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hatred," the release said.
From May 7-9, Carr will travel to Warsaw, Poland and Budapest, Hungary, where he will meet with government officials, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and Jewish community leaders, the release said.
On May 12, Carr will travel to Belgium for meetings with government officials, local NGOs and Jewish community leaders, the release added.
In Antwerp, Carr is scheduled to address the Conference of European Rabbis on May 14.
