No information about return of Pervez Musharraf: Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 29th April, 2019) Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Ahmed Shah on Monday said that he doesn't have any information about return of former president Pervez Musharraf.Talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he said that he also read news about return of Pervez Musharraf in newspapers. He further said that the government is committed to curb crimes in order to ensure protection of lives and properties of the people.

The interior minister said difficult decisions are being taken for the welfare of the people and the country. He said that any issue can be addressed with the good intent. The Interior Minister said that law and order is a devolved subject under the 18th amendment.On the occasion, Ijaz Shah also appreciated the performance of Islamabad police.Replying a question, the minister of interior said that under the 18 Constitutional Amendments, the law and order is responsibility of the provinces.

Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Ahmed Shah was appointed as minister of the interior recently amid a major reshuffle in federal cabinet. The portfolio of federal interior minister was earlier held by Prime Minister Imran Khan himself.Ijaz Shah was elected as a member of the National Assembly from Nankana Sahib Constituency of NA-118. He was inducted in the cabinet in March as the State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs but in April reshuffle in the cabinet he promoted as the Federal Minister for Interior.Earlier, Shah remained an aide of former president Pervez Musharraf and served as director general of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) from 2004 to 2008.
