Pakpattan man tells story of his arrest for making mini airplane

Muhammad Fayyaz said that he wanted to fly his plane on March 23.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 29th April, 2019) Muhammad Fayyaz, Pakpattan man who was arrested for making a small homemade airplane, has in a fresh statement said that he had a made a model of the plane prior to the actual plane.

He said that he had taken the plane to a nearby main road to fly it.

He said that he some of his friends were also present there who had stopped the flow of traffic so he could fly is Mahi-1 mini airplane.

Muhammad Fayyaz said that several policemen also arrived there and even took selfies with him.

He said that when he tried to fly Mahi-1, it could only fly till one to two feet above ground but he could not get power because of small engine.

Muhammad Fayyaz said that he wanted to fly his plane on March 23. He had also brought a national flag to put in front of the plane.

He said that he went to DPO, DCO, Complaints branch, security branch and IB on March 22 along with his real ID card and also showed them the video of the plane.

When he told them about the plane that he wanted to fly on March 23, the officials told him to come two days later. He was returned when he went again two days later.

When he went three days letter, the officials arrested him.

Pakpattan Police had reportedly taken into custody his mini airplane when Muhammad Fayyaz attempted to fly it without registering it with any concerned authority.

The man was arrested moments before his homemade airplane could take off from a road.

According to the FIR, Fayaz was apprehended for building an aircraft without a permit and performing aerobatics in the makeshift flying machine.

The police action was met by criticism on social media as the man should be encouraged for his talent rather being apprehended.

Following criticism, on the directives of Secretary Aviation and Director General Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Shahrukh Nusrat, a team of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Thursday returned the mini airplane to the resident of Pakpattan Chak No 32SB Muhammad Fayyaz.

Secretary Aviation Shahrukh Nusrat said in this regard that the passion and skills of mini airplane maker Muhammad Fayaz is appreciated and guidance will be provided to him to achieve more expertise in his field.
