BAGHDAD (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) The Iraqi side proposed Russia to open an economic department in the Russian Embassy in Baghdad, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Alhakim said Thursday."We proposed for an economic department to be opened in the Russian Embassy in Baghdad to monitor tenders from Iraqi ministries and to immediately respond to them," Alhakim said during a press conference with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov.
Borisov has arrived in Baghdad to partake in a meeting of Russian-Iraqi Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
Alhakim has added that the sides also agreed to hold semi-annual meetings led by deputy heads of the commission.
