National Flags Flown Near Vladivostok Train Station Ahead Of Arrival Of Kim's Train

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) National flags of Russia and North Korea are flown near the train station in Russia's Vladivostok, where North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is expected to arrive later on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim would meet on April 25 in the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok. Ushakov noted that the talks would focus on a political and diplomatic solution to the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula. Earlier in the day, the Korean Central news Agency reported that the North Korean leader had already left for his first visit to Russia.

Several road police cars were deployed near the station, while parking in the area is limited. Police officers told Sputnik that roads leading to the train station would be closed off, but it was unclear when exactly.

However, there is no particular reinforcement of security measures at the train station itself. A guard told Sputnik that everything was rather routine, but some preparations and inspections were underway ahead of Kim's arrival.

The Korean Central News Agency also reported earlier that Kim was accompanied on his visit to Russia by a number of high-ranking North Korean officials. However, Kim's wife, Ri Sol Ju, was not mentioned on the list of accompanying persons.
