NUR-SULTAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) Kazakhstan's ruling Nur Otan party has nominated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country's current acting head of state, to run for presidency in the June 9 election.
The party unanimously supported the corresponding proposal by the chairman and former president, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"I will run in the election to maintain the strategic course of the first president aimed at the development of our country," Tokayev said at the party session.
