125 Persons Killed, Over 200 Injured In Explosions At Churches, Hotel In Sri LANKA

COLOMBO (Pakistan Point News / Online - 21st April, 2019) As many as 125 people have died and over 200 have sustained injuries in successive 6 blasts in two hotels and 3 churches in Sri Lanka on the eve of Easter.The injured were rushed to the hospitals and the security forces have cordoned off the area and started search operation.President Maithripala Sirisena while strongly condemning the blasts has said there is no room for terrorists in Sri Lanka and those behind the explosions will be taken to logic end.

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, writing on his verified Twitter account, said the attacks had killed "many innocent people" and appeared to be a "well-coordinated attempt to create murder, mayhem & anarchy."Police said the explosions took place on the occasion when Christian community was attending Easter services.At least six explosions have been reported. Three churches in Kochchikade, Katuwapitiya and Batticaloa were targeted.The international community including Pakistan have denounced the terror attacks in Sri Lanka.In a statement issued by Foreign Office (FO), it has been said that terrorism is a curse for the entire world and the entire world will have to pursue a joint strategy to weed out this scourge.FO Spokesperson said Pakistan stands with ;people and government of Sri Lanka in this hour of grief.
