Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 21st April, 2019) Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is a strong candidate to replace Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Chaudhry Nisar is expected to take oath as Member Punjab Assembly next week.

According to media reports, the senior politician will take the oath on April 24.

Political circles are of the view that in case Usman Buzdar is removed as Punjab chief minister, he will be a strong candidate to replace him.

Nisar contested election as independent candidate but he could not succeed on national assembly seats and he met defeat at the hands of Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar of PTI. However he succeeded on provincial assembly seat and he has not taken oath so far.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is likely to meet president PML-N Mian Shahbaz Sharif in London.

According to media reports, Nisar decided to make contacts with PML-N after the rejection of latter narrative of resistant politics. In this regard his first meeting is likely to take place in London.

Chaudhry Nisar will decide about taking oath after his meeting with Shahbaz Sharif.

Earlier, PML-N dissident leader Chaudhry Nisar said offer for slot of chief minister was made to him but he had rejected it for fear of criticism.

"After general elections, offer for the office of chief minister was extended to me through my friends in different times but I did not want to become target of criticism from any one after winning the election being independent candidate", he said.

He held that the incumbent government has disappointed the people in eight months. Opposition parties have golden chance to launch movement against the government, he added.

Nisar added that people pin high hopes on every new government. Imran Khan had shown golden dreams to people but he has disappointed them awfully.
