Brigadier Retd Ijaz Shah took charge of Interior ministry on Friday after Thursday’s cabinet reshuffle.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 20th April, 2019) Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has reportedly expressed his desire to become the interior minister.
According to details, the defence minister has expressed his wish to be appointed as Interior Minister. Prime Minister Imran Khan has called him today for a meeting in this regard.
The two will meet at Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence.
Brigadier Retd Ijaz Shah took charge of Interior ministry on Friday after Thursday’s cabinet reshuffle.
Ijaz Shah reached Interior Ministry office at 9am on Friday in R-Block Secretariat where he took charge of his office.
Earlier he was appointed as Federal minister for parliamentary affairs.
PM Imran Khan after removing Shehryar Afridi from the post of state minister for interior appointed Brig retd Ijaz Shah on his place.
It can be noted here that the prime minister was already aware of Khattak’s wish to become Interior Minister but he still appointed Ijaz Shah to run the important portfolio.
