Russia plans to increase the exports of home-produced microelectronics by 250 percent in the decade ending in 2025, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said on Tuesday, adding that the use of domestic microelectronics on the internal market is expected to go up by 50 percent in the corresponding period

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 16th April, 2019) Russia plans to increase the exports of home-produced microelectronics by 250 percent in the decade ending in 2025, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said on Tuesday, adding that the use of domestic microelectronics on the internal market is expected to go up by 50 percent in the corresponding period.

"The main guidelines are as follows: the share of the Russian-made radio-electronic devices on the domestic market should grow 1.5 times by 2025, while the exports [should grow] more than 3.5 times in comparison with 2015," Borisov said.

He also added that a new microelectronic production project was organized at the Russian Angstrem-T plant in order to achieve these goals.

"I would like to inform everyone that all the relevant decisions have been taken. [The project] is supported by money, we only need to implement all these plans in order to move away from dependence [on imports] in this highly sensitive field," Borisov stressed.

The Angstrem-T plant is situated in Zelenograd, Moscow Region. Its Primary goal is the implementation of an investment project to establish a submicron semiconductor manufacture at the facility.
