Five terrorists have so far been killed in the operation.
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 16th April, 2019) The operation against terrorists is underway in Peshawar as five suspected terrorists have been killed.
The operation started Monday night and still continues.
According to media reports, the operation was conducted after the security agencies received an intelligence tip off that terror suspects have been hiding in a house in Hayatabad.
Five terrorists have so far been killed in the operation. One was gunned down last night in the initial shoot out. The other four have been killed in a long operation over the night jointly by the Military, SSG and Police.
A policeman embraced martyrdom in the operation against terrorists in Hayatabad Peshawar while two other persons have been injured.
The terrorists are reportedly inside a house in Hayatabad area of Peshawar. The terrorists were residing in a 5-marla house in Hayatabad Phase 7.
Corps commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood visited the site of the operation and lauded the skills displayed by soldiers during the operation.
The corps commander said that the locals cooperated with the security forces for the operation.
Meanwhile, KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said that police conducted a quick operation when it received information that some terrorists were present in a house in Hayatabad area.
Peshawar CCPO said that militants were hiding in a house and when police raided they started firing from the inside. The firing exchange, he said, continued for two hours. One policeman lost his life while a terrorist was killed in the operation, he added.
