Russian President Vladimir Putin did not play any role in transferring Baring Vostok founder Michael Calvey under house arrest, he cannot and is not going to interfere in investigative and judicial actions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th April, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin did not play any role in transferring Baring Vostok founder Michael Calvey under house arrest, he cannot and is not going to interfere in investigative and judicial actions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

"We carefully avoided any assessments, and the president could not and cannot, and does not have any plans to interfere in investigative actions or in judicial actions," Peskov said when asked what commutation of Calvey's measure of restraint was caused by.

Moscow's Basmanny court on Thursday, on a request from investigators, changed the measure of restraint for Calvey in a fraud case from pretrial detention to house arrest.
