Wasting taxpayers money: KP Assembly spends Rs10 million on single bill

Over Rs 139.3 million was spend on KP Assembly sessions of just 31 days while over Rs 10 million was spend on passing a single bill.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th April, 2019) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly reportedly spends Rs 10 million on passing one bill.

According to media reports, over Rs 139.3 million was spend on KP Assembly sessions of just 31 days while over Rs 10 million was spend on passing a single bill.

While the KP Assembly members get many perks, their work remains limited.

Only 31 sessions were held in seven months in KP Assembly but the lawmakers got allowances for 47 days.

Only 6 sessions were held in 31 days where only 14 bills were passed. A single bill cost over Rs 9,951,000.

The overall expenses amount to Rs 139,326,000. The opposition members termed the KP Assembly sessions as mere waste of time and resources.

The citizens are also criticising the KP lawmakers for getting heavy allowances but showing little performance.

The public, already frustrated over increasing inflation, is of the view that the taxpayers money is only being wasted this way.
