ST.PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th April, 2019) The volume of cargo going via the Northeast Passage is expected to rise up to 29-30 tonnes in 2019, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov told Sputnik Wednesday.
"We estimate that we will reach about 29-30 million tonnes [of cargo this year]," the official said in an interview, adding that the current capacity of the route was about 20 million tonnes.
