Netanyahu Says Coalition Talks With Right-Wing Parties Already Started

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th April, 2019) Incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that he had already started coalition talks with right-wing parties, despite the fact that the official results of the Tuesday parliamentary election had not been announced yet.

On Tuesday, Israel held parliamentary election. Both Netanyahu, who is heading the Likud party, and Benny Gantz, head of the Kahol Lavan political alliance, have claimed victory and announced their plans to form the cabinet.

"This night I have already started the talks with leaders of right-wing parties, our natural partners. This night they have already vowed to recommend me [to the president] for forming the next government [as prime minister]," Netanyahu told his supporters.

"The right-wing alliance headed by Likud will govern in the country for the next four years," he added.
