India rejects Pakistan’s claim of New Delhi planning fresh attack

India termed the claim as irresponsible and preposterous.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 8th April, 2019) India has rejected Pakistan’s claim that New Delhi has been planning a new attack against its neighbour.

India termed the claim as irresponsible and preposterous.

The spokesperson of Indian Ministry of External Affairs in his statement said, "India rejects the irresponsible and preposterous statement by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan with a clear objective of whipping up war hysteria in the region. This public gimmick appears to be a call to Pakistan-based terrorists to undertake a terror attack in India."

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had claimed that Pakistan has reliable intelligence that India is hatching a new conspiracy to commit another act of aggression against it.

Addressing a news conference in Multan on Sunday, he said the action could take place from 16th to 20th of the current month.

The Foreign Minister said in order to justify its military action against Pakistan and to increase diplomatic pressure against it, a new drama can be created in Occupied Kashmir on the pattern of Pulwama.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan acted maturely and responsibly after the Indian aggression on 26th February and made sincere efforts to deescalate the situation.Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan will act responsibly for peace in the world. However, he urged international community to break its silence due to flashpoint nature of this region.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the propaganda of India has been fully exposed by international media.

Replying to a question, he said Pakistan reserves the right to defend itself in case of any aggression. He said the role played by Pakistan's armed forces and the nation showed that we are united against belligerence.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated in February, after the Pakistani military shot down two Indian warplanes in the disputed region of Kashmir, responding to an earlier airstrike by Indian aircraft against what New Delhi said was a camp of Jaish-e-Mohammad group, considered terrorists by India and located on the Pakistani soil across the Line of Control.

The Indian airstrike came after a deadly attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad on the Indian paramilitary police force in Pulwama, Kashmir on February 14, leaving 45 victims. While India has accused Pakistan of supporting the militants and having a "direct hand" in the incident, Pakistan, in turn, has rejected the allegations.
