Three More Women Complain About Ex-US Vice President Biden's Improper Conduct

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th April, 2019) Three more women have accused Joe Biden, who served as US vice president from 2009 to 2017 under former President Barack Obama, of improper behavior, bringing the total of accusations to seven, local media reported on Thursday.

Vail Kohnert-Yount told The Washington Post newspaper that in 2013, when she was a White House intern, Biden had put his hand on the back on her head while talking to her and then pressed his forehead to hers. She said that she was "shocked" by Biden's behavior, while she did not consider it to be sexual harassment.

"But it was the kind of inappropriate behavior that makes many women feel uncomfortable and unequal in the workplace," Kohnert-Yount added.

Sofie Karasek, who appeared onstage at the Oscars ceremony in 2016 with 50 other sexual assault victims, told the newspaper that she communicated with Biden after the ceremony and shared a story about another assault victim with the politician. He responded by holding her hands and putting his forehead against hers, which made her feel uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, the third woman, Ally Coll, a former Democratic Party staffer, said that Biden had squeezed her shoulders and held her "for a beat too long" during a 2008 election event.

"There's been a lack of understanding about the way that power can turn something that might seem innocuous into something that can make somebody feel uncomfortable," Coll, who now works for a non-profit organization fighting sexual harassment, told the newspaper.

Biden, aged 76, has already faced four accusations recently, with women claiming that he had made them feel uneasy by touching or even kissing them.

Hours before The Washington Post revealed the three new confessions, Biden pledged to be "more mindful" of women's personal space. While he did not apologize directly, the politician said that he acknowledged that social norms had changed and he would take this into consideration.
