Load shedding starts in urban and rural areas

Power distribution companies are conducting three to four hours shutdown as the demand and supply gap widens

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 3rd April 2019) Consumers in different cities and rural areas are facing three to four hours load shedding as the temperature went up for last week.

According to official sources, the national grid is facing some 2,000MW shortfall in demand and supply and the power distribution companies are asked to conduct load shedding in their limits according to the demand-supply ratio.

The Discos in KP and Balochistan are conducting three to four hour shut down in their areas while the consumers in Interior Sindh and Southern Punjab are also facing shutdown with the same duration.

There load shedding duration, however, is maximum three-hour in rural and urban limits of Lahore Electric Supply Company, Gujranwala Electric Power Company, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company and Islamabad Electric Supply Company.

The officials in the NTDC say the load shedding will further increase with the rise in temperature in coming days.
