DEWA, Kenyan authority fostering cooperation

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 03rd Apr, 2019) The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has explored collaboration with National Environment Tribunal of the Kenyan National Environment Management Authority, NEMA, to promote sustainable development.

This came after Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Kenyan National Environment Management Authority headed by Kariuki Mugwe, Consul-General of Kenya in Dubai. This is one of a series of meetings that DEWA conducts to consolidate cooperation and collaboration with all diplomatic and consular missions in the UAE.

Al Tayer welcomed Mugwe and presented DEWA’s projects, initiatives, and plans to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. DEWA is working on enhancing the efficiency of the energy sector and rationalise the use of natural resources to promote sustainable development in the emirate.

He explained that DEWA continuously works to further upgrade its services and form a distinctive model to meet Dubai’s development requirements. DEWA also provides electricity and water services, in accordance with the highest international standards of availability, reliability, and efficiency, to achieve the happiness of all customers and stakeholders.

The Kenyan Consul-General, in turn, commended DEWA’s efforts to promote sustainable development in the emirate.
