It has been revealed in a report sent to Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that Polyclinic Hospital has provided substandard medicines of worth Rs140m to different dispensaries

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 02nd April, 2019) It has been revealed in a report sent to Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that Polyclinic Hospital has provided substandard medicines of worth Rs140m to different dispensaries.Report further revealed that these substandard medicines were also provided to dispensaries in Supreme Court and Parliament House.These medicines are being provided to 33 dispensaries under polyclinic for the last 5 years, Speaker National Assembly has now ordered an inquiry and given the case the Chairman PAC, Shahbaz Sharif, who is involved in different corruption cases.

A number of times drug inspectors have seized the low standard medicines but the cases were sent under the carpet due to pressure of high ups.According to the report all this corruption occurred in Nawaz era, when Tariq Fazal Chaudhry hired his workers in different dispensaries, who committed this mega corruption.Instead of doctors and technical staff, the officials of ministry were deputed to commit corruption.Corruption is not a new thing in polyclinic hospital, from the purchase of oxygen to medicines; officials take their commission and accept low quality items from market.
