Senator Mehr Taj elected Chairperson Parliamentary Committee

Meeting for the election of the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of the Chairperson of the National Commission on Status of Women was held on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 02nd April, 2019) Meeting for the election of the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of the Chairperson of the National Commission on Status of Women was held on Tuesday.The meeting commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran. The Special Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat, welcomed the Hon. Members and briefed them about the agenda and procedure for election of Chairperson.

Later on, the proceeding of the Election of the Chairperson was started. Consequently, Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA proposed the name of Senator Prof. Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani which was seconded by Senator Nuzhat Sadiq and Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali, MNA. Being the only candidate for Chairperson, Special Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat announced that Senator Prof. Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani is unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on appointment of the Chairperson of the National Commission on Status of Women.

Consequently, he congratulated the newly elected Chairperson on behalf of the Hon. Speaker and the Worthy Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat. He also assured the Committee for providing full Secretarial support for effective and efficient functioning of the Committee. All the Hon. Members congratulated and expressed their full confidence and cooperation to the newly elected Chairperson. The Chairperson also reciprocated them for giving their confidence and support.4. Hon.
