ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 02nd April, 2019) 4th meeting of the Standing Committee on Water Resources was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur, MNA.The Committee was briefed that Radar System for weather telecasting has been upgraded in Islamabad and the same is yet to be upgraded in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Sukkhar, Gilgit-Baltistan and KP province. The Committee was further informed that due to the shifting in monsoon rainfall zone from north-east to north-west about 100 km, additional 25 districts came under severe threat of flood.

The Committee expressed strong displeasure for convening of IRSA meeting within three days' short time period, having known about the meeting of the Standing Committee on same day & time i.e 02-04-2019 at 11:00 a.m. and decided to bring it to the notice of Prime Minister Imran Khan.Due to the IRSA meeting, Secretaries, Irrigation departments of all provinces could not attend the Standing Committee meeting (which is eyes and ears of the Parliament) and meeting became meaningless.The following MNAs, Mr. Ali Nawaz Awan, Ch. Shouka Ali Bhatti, Mr. Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik, Ms. Kanwal Shauzab, Mr. Khalid Hussain Magsi, Mr. Riaz-ul-Haq, Ms. Marriyam Aurangzeb, Mr. Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, and Mr. Munir Khan Orakzai, besides officials of the Ministry attended the meeting. NNI
