Taking to Twitter, the actress stressed upon the importance of consent.
The ‘cake’ star said, “It's like saying if a prostitute was raped it is her fault anyway.”
“When will some of you really understand the meaning of #consent?” she said, adding, “An old leaked video of Asma Aziz dancing, does not justify her being tortured for refusing to dance when she doesn't feel like it. Have mercy!”
Asma Aziz torture case took a new turn as a video surfacing on social media showed Asma dancing vulgarly in a party.
The video had raised several questions as Asma could be seen dancing with men in the party.
Speaking about the video, Asma said that the video is a part of her past and she has been getting punished for it for four years.
“I would like to tell the people that even if I had committed some mistake in the past, it’s been four years since I have been suffering for it,” she said.
I would request other people to protect themselves, she added.
Meanwhile, a local court on Monday sent two accused, including a man who allegedly tortured his wife and shaved her head off over refusal to dance before his friends, to jail on judicial remand for two weeks.
