Meeting of National Assembly (NA) standing committee on law and justice was held in parliament lodges under chairman standing committee Riaz Fatyana Tuesday

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 02nd April, 2019) Meeting of National Assembly (NA) standing committee on law and justice was held in parliament lodges under chairman standing committee Riaz Fatyana Tuesday.Secretary election commission Babar Yaqoob gave briefing to committee upon minorities' seats in different assemblies and their procedure.Secretary said that seats of minorities have not been increased till yet in proportion to growth in their population since 1971.

.Committee directed secretary election commission that he should see the detail work of parliamentary committee for election reforms on this and also seek guidance from ECP members upon increasing seats for minorities.PML-N leader Rana Sana Ullah said that minorities should be give chance to contest election on general seats too.He said keeping minorities on reserved seats is tantamount to keep them on drug.Alia Kamran said that all reserved seats should be ended.

Rana Sana Ullah said that present reserved seats for minorities will be maintained while for new; formula will be decided after consultation.Khawaja Saad Rafique also attended the meeting upon production orders.PML-N member Assembly Rana Sana Ullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Barrister Ibrahim, Sana Ullah Masti Khail, Lal Chand, Shanila Rath, Ali Kamran, secretary election commission Babar Yaqoob, Secretary Law Abdul Shakoor Paracha and others attended the meeting.
