BRICS Business Council to Discuss Payment Systems' Connection, E-Trade - Commerce Chamber

He agenda of the upcoming Business Council of the BRICS association of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will include such issues as connection of the countries' payment systems, electronic commerce and the removal of obstacles for businesses, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin said on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd April, 2019) The agenda of the upcoming business Council of the BRICS association of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will include such issues as connection of the countries' payment systems, electronic commerce and the removal of obstacles for businesses, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin said on Tuesday.

The next meetings of the BRICS Business Council and its working groups are slated to take place in Johannesburg in early April.�

"What are the most important things on the agenda? Firstly, nearly all countries have their own payment systems, [and] given the turbulence that occurs in the international community, including in terms of payments, sanctions, one of the most important things is, of course, the connection of payment systems ," Katyrin said during a press conference.

The president of the commerce chamber also noted that the countries would discuss the possibility of creating uniform ratings for BRICS countries and their mutual recognition.

"The third issue [on the agenda] is digital economy and electronic commerce," Katyrin said.

The agenda will also include discussions on administrative barriers for businesses and the use of opportunities provided by the New Development Bank.
