Supreme Court (SC) has admitted former judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) appeal plea for preliminary hearing

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / Online - 02nd April, 2019) Supreme Court (SC) has admitted former judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) appeal plea for preliminary hearing.SC has issued written orders in respect of appeal plea filed by former judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarking that Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) decision can be challenged under article 3/184 of the constitution.The court has ordered registrar office to mark No on the appeal plea and fix it for hearing.

In the decision issued by SC it is said that the petitioner had challenged the contents of October 11, 2018 decision of SJC. The decision of SJC can be challenged under article 3/184 of the constitution. SC has maintained in a decision that SJC is not a court. The objections raised by registrar office are of technical nature. The registrar office objections on appeal plea are rejected.According to SC decision the appeal has been admitted for preliminary hearing.Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had filed petition for challenging the SJC decision. Registrar office had raised objections over it. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had filed appeal against these objections.
