Justice (retired) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui stated that due to unfortunate circumstances, he is unable to fulfill his responsibilities

The judges of the Balochistan High Court ask Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa to investigate the matter of the agencies’ interference into the judicial matters.

The PTI founder and former prime minister says that he is hopeful that the judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will save the country.

The move comes in response to mounting pressure from bar associations and legal scholars, who have called for a thorough examination of the letter's contents.

In their correspondence, the IHC judges seek clarification from the SJC regarding a judge's duty to report and respond to actions by members of the executive, including intelligence agency operatives, that impede the discharge of official duties and constitute intimidation.

The top court has also overturned the Supreme Judicial Council's recommendation against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, and held that Justice Siddiqui is to be recognized as a retired judge.

A Supreme Court five-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa reserved the verdict after hearing arguments of both sides.

The top court also issued notices to former IHC chief justice Anwar Khan Kasi, former Supreme Court registrar Arbab Muhammad Arif, and retired brigadier Irfan Ramay.

Maryam Nawaz has asked the court to declare the accountability court's verdict void and order her acquittal from all charges in the case.
