Middle-order batsman admits the mistake and apologizes for his action.

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 1st April 2019) Umar Akmal, the middle order batsman, after facing backlash over his poor performance against Australia, has to meet another stigma when he was fined 20 percent of his match fee by Pakistan cricket board.

The PCB announced fine for late night-out ahead of Sunday’s match against Aussies in Dubai.

However, Akmal accepted his fault and apologized over violation of discipline. Media reports stated that Akmal apologized for his actions and accepted the sanction proposed by team manager Talat Ali.

PCB MD Wasim Khan quoted in media reports by saying that he was happy that Akmal admitted his mistake.

“He [Umar Akmal] has accepted his mistake and apologized,” he said, adding the action of the batsman was unprofessional and could not be ignored.

Ruling out options of taking any other action against Akmal, he hoped the player will strictly observe the rules and adopt discipline.
