ISLAMABAD (Pakistan Point News / NNI - 01st April, 2019) The National Institute of Health (NIH) on Monday issued a warning notification about seasonal diseases,.In the 44th notification from the NIH, the Federal and provincial administrations have been warned about the viral diseases.The notification read that all the institutions related to the public health should continuously keep an eye on seasonal threats.It asked the relevant departments to take measures to tackle the seasonal infections.

"Viral diseases are directly linked to weather," said the NIH.The notification also provided information on Chikungunya virus, diarrhea, Congo virus, dengue virus, measles, Ebola, pertussis, typhoid and Naegleria fowleri.On March 15, experts at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) had said Pakistan stood at eighth number worldwide for high prevalence of kidney diseases causing 20,000 deaths annually."And this trend is growing alarmingly," an expert had said at a day-long public awareness programme organised by the SIUT at its Dewan Farooq Medical Centre Karachi.

Highlighting the factors behind chronic kidney diseases, the experts had said, it was caused primarily due to diabetes, kidney glomerular diseases and high blood pressure in addition to excessive use of painkillers, uncertified herbal medicines, genetic disorders, defects at birth, stone disease, infections, environmental pollution, unhygienic conditions and old age.
