Usman Buzdar government unwilling to launch Purple and Blue Line projects

The Punjab government is not ready to start any other urban transport project after the uncertainty hits the Orange Line

LAHORE- (Pakistan Point News- 29th March 2019) The Usman Buzdar government has closed the files of Purple Line and Blue Line train projects after the uncertain fate of the Orange Line Train.

According to media reports, the Punjab government is not so far willing to start any urban transport projects as the uncertainty already marred the ongoing multi-billion Orange Line project.

The 27-km long train track between Dera Gujran to Ali Town is set to complete in May but it seems the project might not be completed on the given deadline by the court. Officials describe the delay in the funds supply the main reason behind the delay.

In the prevailing situation, the PTI provincial government was not ready to take any risk and start any other transport project in the city.

The three projects were designed in the tenure of Punjab former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Blue Line is a 20km long track between Jinnah Hall The Mall to Green Town while Purple Line is designed on 19Km long distance between Data Darbar to Lahore Airport.
