Russian President Invites Kyrgyz Leader to Visit Russia - Joint Statement

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, to pay a return visit to Russia, and its timing and format will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels, a joint statement of the two presidents posted on the Kremlin website on Thursday said

BISHKEK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th March, 2019) Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, to pay a return visit to Russia, and its timing and format will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels, a joint statement of the two presidents posted on the Kremlin website on Thursday said.

The Russian leader is currently on a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Kyrgyzstan and all the Kyrgyz people for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Russian delegation and invited Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to pay a return visit to the Russian Federation. The offer was gratefully accepted. The dates and format of the visit will be coordinated via diplomatic channels," the joint statement said.

In the framework of Putin's visit to Kyrgyzstan, the presidents will also take part in the plenary session of the Russian-Kyrgyz inter-regional conference. The program of the visit also envisages the presidents' joint visit to the house-museum of the Kyrgyz-Soviet writer Chingiz Aitmatov. Putin's visit to Bishkek will be completed after joint laying of wreaths at the Eternal Flame by the leaders of the two countries.
